Main duties of system admin is to insure effective, provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure assets. This individual should participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. System administrator ensures that all system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and all associated approved policies and procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, and third parties’ contractors.
Key responsibilities include but is not limited to the following:
Build, manage, and troubleshoot all server infrastructure & Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware.
Server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Provide periodic system status reports to department management based on daily systems operations.
In coordination with the IT Security team, conduct periodic security reviews of all remote access systems and portals.
Respond, take proactive action and resolve requests as well as faults logged by systems both internally and externally.
Perform installation of operating systems including Microsoft Windows, UNIX and Linux, networking and other related software.
Perform and manage regular backups of systems and data, and insure backup integrity by performing regular restoration test, perform documentation for the test result and share it with the department management.
Continuously manage remote access requirements to ensure that the IT Department can consistently provide optimum services to the users.
Perform level L2 and L3 support functions for all infrastructure and systems issues.
Communicate with solution providers for any installation, configuration and technical support issues.
Establish, maintain and enforce IT policies and procedures relevant to operating systems, applications and systems usage
Provide support to all IT systems and applications users.
Monitor and manage IT resources in terms of performance, security and capacity and report and document trends and findings
